What is SII?
SII is the electronic system for the online submission of VAT record books. It focuses primarily on the obligation to electronically report the details of issued and received invoices by submitting this information to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT).
This system enables companies to report their transactions on an almost immediate basis.
Who is required to use it?
Large companies with annual turnover exceeding €6 million
Companies registered under the monthly VAT refund scheme (REDEME)
Companies applying the VAT group regime
As established in Chapter IX of Title IX of the Spanish VAT Law.
Any company may voluntarily opt in to the use of SII
Direct connection with the AEAT
Docuten integrates with your company’s management systems and automates VAT communication with the AEAT. Integration is defined in terms of format and channel:
Standard formats supported by the Enxendra platform (CSV, XML) or custom integration using the company’s own format.
Integration via Web Services (SOAP), REST API, sFTP or AS2.
By integrating with your systems, we automate invoice reception and SII generation, submitting the information in the XML format required by the AEAT. The platform sends the data within the legally established timeframes and receives confirmation from the Spanish Tax Agency indicating the acceptance or rejection status of each submission.
