Signing invoices with a digital certificate: e-invoice signature

If you have your own valid digital certificate issued by a recognised or qualified certification authority, you can sign electronic invoices with it. You will need to check “No” for the Delegated signature option under “Preferences” > “Invoice format”.

In order to sign with a digital certificate, you must use Internet Explorer and have the latest version of Java installed.

The digital certificate is uploaded when the invoice is sent, once the user clicks “Submit”. An applet or java application will pop up before this that allows the certificate to be loaded.

You may get this error:

Unable to sign invoice with personal certificate due to Java security.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

In the toolbar, look for “Java” and go to “Configure Java” in the Windows window. Then click “Security” > “Edit site list.”

Click “Add” and add the address https://app.docuten.com. Then click “Ok,” and “Ok” again.
