What signature services does Docuten offer for a digitally signed document?

To execute a digitally signed document that meets the the specific needs of each client, Docuten offers different types of signature options.

Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 (eIDAS) outlines different types of electronic signatures. All of the solutions offered by Docuten comply with the eIDAS Regulation, along with other international regulations on digital signature.

Docuten is currently recognised as a qualified trust service provider. With our service, you can sign documents digitally using the type of signature that makes the most sense for your specific use case.

Our experience and knowledge about the different signature solutions helps us guide our clients to the right signature method for their needs. With the aim of providing maximum flexibility, Docuten enables clients to use different types of signatures for different use cases.

Docuten offers the following types of digital signatures:

  1. Signature with OTP: Signature with OTP (One-Time Password) is a digital signature done by sending a one-time use code with temporary validity to the signatory (the code can only be used to sign the specific document in question). The code is sent via SMS or by email, depending on the indications of the person who created the signature process.
  2. Biometric signature: A biometric signature is a solution that allows you to sign documents with handwritten signature on any mobile device (tablet, smartphone) with full legal validity.
  3. Signature with certificate in the cloud: This type of signature enables the use of digital certificates issued in the name of the signatory and are securely housed in the Docuten certificates store. There are two variants of this type of signature:
    1. Using a qualified digital certificate hosted by Docuten. This type of digital certificate will have been previously issued by a certification authority (such as the “National Coinage and Stamp Factory – Royal Mint” in Spain, for example) to the signatory, and is linked to his or her ID number.
    2. Using a non-qualified digital certificate issued by Docuten in the name of the signatory. This type of certificate will be generated if there is no digital certificate in Docuten associated with the signatory.
  4. Signature with on-premise certificate: Docuten also offers the possibility of digitally signing documents using a digital certificate on the signatory’s personal computer. A Docuten agent called Docuten Desktop, which is available for Windows and MacOS, must be installed.
