What is a local signature?
It is called a local signature that made with electronic certificates hosted on the signatory’s own computer.
Is the Local Signature legal?
Yes. Local signature is the digital signature that has been used in Spain for the last few years. And the legal validity of the digital signature is included in the European Regulation (Nº910 / 2014) of Electronic Signature, eIDAS , as well as in other international regulations. What signature levels can be achieved with local signature?
With local signature, both qualified and unqualified certificates can be used:
- Qualified certificates, issued by a Qualified Certification Authority. In this case, the signature will be a qualified signature.
- Non-qualified Certificates, issued by the electronic signature platform. In this case, the electronic signature will be an advanced electronic signature.
What are the characteristics of Docuten’s local signature service?
Docuten allows you to sign with qualified (recognized) electronic certificates, thus achieving the highest level of signature , the qualified (recognized) signature.
Electronic certificates can be generated using:
- Cryptographic card
- USB Token
The certificate is kept on server, and no component will be required for its use.
The Local signature solution is compatible with all operating systems and browsers, and has been implemented with a local Java component that is installed on the signer’s computer (replacing the old applets).
